Meridian HealthComms Office Move And New Furniture
This Meridian HealthComms office move came with a tight deadline, a new furniture range to choose and fit, and a team who needed to start work on Monday morning.
The client
A Growing Healthcare Communications Agency
Meridian HealthComms is a healthcare communications agency. It was founded in 2004 and works for drug and biotech companies on scientific and clinical writing, brand work and planning. In 2022 it became part of the Bioscript Group.
When CMR Relocation worked with them, Meridian was growing fast. The team had outgrown its office and needed to move. It also needed a new furniture range that suited a creative agency, worked well day to day and stayed within a set budget.
The office manager, Emma Hatt, ran the project on Meridian's side. Her words are quoted in full below.
The brief
What Meridian HealthComms Needed From The Move
The brief had four parts, and the timeline was short.
A new office
Move the whole team from the old office into new premises with room to grow.
A new furniture range
Help choose furniture that looked right for a creative business but also worked hard.
A fixed budget
Keep the new furniture within the budget Meridian had set.
A tight deadline
Work to a short and fixed timeframe, with no lost working days.
How we did it
Fitting The New Furniture Before Moving Day
The key decision was the order of work. We installed the complete new furniture system at the new office a few days before the move. That meant the desks were built and ready when the boxes and IT arrived.
Doing it this way takes the pressure off the move itself. On the day, our crew only has to bring in crates, chairs and equipment and put them in their places. Nobody is building desks around people trying to plug in their computers.
There were also several people at Meridian with a say in the project. Each had their own needs. We kept everyone up to date and checked decisions as we went, so there were no surprises at the end.
The team moved in without a hitch. On Monday morning, Meridian's staff sat down at their new desks and started work, with no down time at all.

What Meridian's Office Manager Wrote To Us
"Our office relocation has been brilliantly managed from start to finish by Darrin and his team at CMR Relocation Ltd. Not to mention providing and installing a complete new furniture including system, a few days before the move commenced. I felt reassured at every stage that we were being looked after and I am delighted to say that we moved in without a hitch and could start work on Monday morning with no down time whatsoever!
Seriously, thank you so much for all your hard work; I really couldn't have managed without you!"
What you can take from it
How To Move A Growing Team Without Losing A Day
Fit the furniture first. If you are buying new desks, have them built in the new office before the move. Our office furniture supply and fitting works this way.
Think about a weekend move. Many businesses finish on a Friday and start in the new office on Monday. Our commercial moving service plans around your working week, and our IT moving team reconnects computers before staff arrive.
Give one person the final say. With several people involved, one clear contact keeps decisions moving. Our checklist for office moves helps that person stay on top of it all. You can also read our AVEVA furniture and move project.
